Today we're exploring matters of a Swedish nature, more particularly Saab and Scania.

The older of these is Scania, who are called after the Swedish province of Skåne and started business in 1911 following the merger of two other companies, Vabis and Maskinfabriks AB Scania. They made trucks, cars (until 1929) and buses.

Here's one of the earliest trucks, a 1919 CLc . It's RHD because (a) Sweden drove on the left until 1967 and (b) it's the natural order of things.

My favorite Swedish heady duty vehicle is Scania-Vabis C50 Metropol. It has Scania's own inline 8 diesel.
